ACCORDING TO ACT 8 OF JULY 5th, 1985, THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES ARE ESTABLISHED:
Preserve a natural area in Panama City that contributes to maintaining the natural balance of its urban habitat in particular, to prevent pollution and promote a healthy environment.
Provide the population with better choices for outdoor recreation, which contributes to improving the quality of life.
Promote the establishment of sites with facilities for guided recreation, interaction with nature, environmental education, ecological research, and other related scientific and cultural activities.
Protect the water regime of the Curundu River.
Conserve the area’s natural resources, flora and fauna.
